Armor Games

If it’s possible to find “art house video games”, Armor Games is probably the place to look.  Unlike the mage-companies typically found in the industry, Armor Games is made up of individuals who are simply passionate about their craft – so passionate that they release new titles on an almost daily basis.

Dr. Dare’s Lab will be transformed into a showcase for some of the company’s favorite titles from several genres, including:

  • Puzzle/Skill
  • Action/Adventure
  • Pixel/Artistic
  • Role Playing
  • Click & Shoot
  • Defense
  • Best Of

Armor Games ties in perfectly with Otronicon’s workshop series, as students can see the potential fruits of their hard work.

Club Otron

For those of us that just can't sit still, spend some time in Club Otron.  There you'll find a larger than life version of Dance Dance Revolution.  The game is set on a wall of monitors for the ultimate DDR experience.

New this year... DJ Hero!  From the makers of Guitar Hero, DJ Hero features an amazing variety of music across genres. Using an authentic turntable controller, you can spin and scratch more than 102 songs into unique mixes and become the life of the party.

Free Play

Try your hand at some of today's hottest titles like Guitar Hero in a free play format.  This area also hosts a variety of action and adventure games played on all the major platforms like Wii, PS3 and X Box 360.

Join us for a presentation by Armor Games Producers Joey Betz and John Cooney. Find out what goes into making a great video game and building a video game company. The presentation will be done via Skype in Dr. Dare's Lab.

Armor Games has just released some of the titles they'll be showing at Otronicon. They include:
  • Crush the Castle - Award winning simulator; at over 14 million plays, the most popular game on the site.  Also the first Title by Armor Games to be released as an iPhone application.
  • Achievement Unlocked - An odd game where winning is the last thing on your to-do list. Winner of E4.com Game of the Year for the category: "OMG LOL"
  • The Majesty of Colors - An artful exploration of human relationships, emotions and morality--as a three eyed sea monster.
  • Hedgehog Launch 1 & 2 - Be the first animal to reach another planet-but on a budget.
  • I Love Traffic - Control traffic lights to get all the cars safely where they need to go.
  • I Hate Traffic - The inevitable sequel - objective based vehicular destruction!
  • Gemcraft - Construct magical towers to defend your castle from hordes of invading monsters.
  • Dale & Peakot - A simple farmer and his trusty pet on an adventure to rescue their chickens from those hungry Coyotes.

U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) SFC Paul Ray Smith Simulation & Training Technology Center (STTC) will provide a "Mini Robot Road Race" for entertainment and competition at this year's OTRONICON. Utilizing the advanced research and technology developed at the University of Central Florida/ Institute for Simulation and Training (UCF/IST), we will create an exciting an unmanned adventure.

The mini robots represent a small scaled version of the unmanned systems RDECOM uses in its lab for various Human Robotic Interactive studies. They are also used to test the transfer of their software from simulated vehicle to a live platform. The race will be time or distanced based so that each player gets to compete not only with others but against themselves and their ability to control an unmanned ground system.
